Mrs. Lisa Marion
Hi, and welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! In case you didn't already know, I grew up in the small town of Dundee, just as your children are. My parents are Ron and Jean Silveira and I have one brother, Ronnie, who is also a teacher. As a child I can remember loving school and always wanting to be a teacher. Elementary school was always a fun place to be for me at Dundee Community Schools, and my goal is to make it the same for your little one!
After graduating from DHS, I attended Monroe Community College and then Eastern Michigan University where I received my bachelors degree. I'm a math major and an English/literature minor. During my college years, I juggled two and sometimes three jobs. Working in a factory during my summers really cemented my decision to become a teacher!!! I also worked at a local day care and the former Food Town to put myself through college. I completed my student teaching at Paddock Elementary in Milan, Michigan, and then took on a permanent substitute position to finish out the 1999-2000 school year. I was hired by Dundee in July of 2000 as a fifth grade teacher in the middle school. My best move ever was volunteering to take a vacant fourth grade position in 2004 to become part of the elementary family! In April of 2004, I also earned my masters degree in the "Art of Teaching" from Marygrove College. Throughout my time in the elementary, I've taught third, fourth, and have even a few years as the computer teacher. That position allowed me to grow professionally in so many ways, but being in a classroom is my home. This year will be my twenty-fourth year at Dundee, and I'm more excited than ever to make this an amazing and memorable year of learning for all of us!
On a more personal note, I live in Saline with my husband Mike and daughters, Emma (21), Megan (19), and Malory (15) who all attend(ed) Dundee Schools. I've been married for 24 years and enjoy my quiet country life. I also adore Jazzercise, scrapbooking, exploring/learning on the computer, shopping, camping, and just being outdoors. I feel very honored to have the opportunity to learn with you and your children this year. I have an open-door policy in which I strongly encourage communication. Thank you ahead of time for all of your support!
